So...today was day 3 in Munich and it was AWESOME! The weather was very nice today, so we decided to change our original plans and go sight seeing! The sun was shining and the temperature was around 61 degrees Fahrenheit or 16 degrees Celsius.
Mom and I started the day by going to the local corner store "Netto". I believe they call this a discount store here, but it was very similar to a mom and pop grocery store. We went here for multiple reasons. First off, I wanted to know where it was and how far of a walk. It is basically less than 10 minutes of a walk. Yay! When we got to store, we were in search of shampoo, conditioner, and something for breakfast. Y'all...I was able to get shampoo for 57 cents!! Say What?! We then got some soft rolls, cream cheese, and salami for breakfast. It ended up tasting good, but the rolls are definitely not the same as a bagel! Through all of this, we found that the prices here are really decent! After going back to the room, we got our showers and ate breakfast. We then decided that it was such a beautiful day out, and it is supposed to rain for the next couple of days, that we would go on a city tour. We looked these up and found out that we needed to go to the Hauptbahnhof station. This is close to the center of the city and, as we found out, a very busy station. To get to Hauptbahnhof we took the U6 from Freimann to Odeonsplatz. From Odeonsplatz we hopped onto the U5 for two stations to the Hauptbahnhof. Not too bad! Once there, we purchased two all-day tickets for the red tour bus. Our first tour was the City Center tour. We had fun listening to all of the history about different buildings and statues. Once we arrived at the Marienplatz, we decided to hop off and go shopping! More on the shopping and the rest of the day later...
